Child mode is a set of restrictions that make MiDaDiX safer for children. Here we explain in plain words how it works.

In short, for kids

You can play all the games, save your progress, collect achievements and add games to your favourites.
You will be able to write reviews, add friends and take part in tournaments once you turn 13.
Only you can see your profile.
Never share your real name, address, phone number or school in games or on websites.
If something scares or upsets you, tell your parents or another adult you trust.

When child mode is turned on

When an account is created, we ask only for the year of birth, not the day or month. If the player will be younger than 13 at the end of this year, the account automatically works in child mode. Until the player has given a year of birth, the account is also treated as a child's account.

Child mode turns off automatically on 1 January of the year in which the child turns 13 (we work out age as the current year minus the year of birth).

Without an account, as a guest, people of any age can play, and no personal details are needed.

What you can do

Play all the games in the catalogue.
Save progress in games.
Add games to favourites.
Earn achievements.
Complete the daily challenge (without appearing on the public leaderboard).
Read other players' reviews that a moderator has approved.

What is not available

Reviews: a child cannot write them.
Friends: friend requests cannot be sent or accepted.
Public profile: the profile is always private and other players cannot open it; wherever the nickname is shown (for example, in results), the avatar is not shown.
Tournaments and public leaderboards: a child's results do not appear in them.
Challenge links: a child cannot create links to share a result.

For parents: what data we store

email address, if signing in by email (or the linked Google, Apple or Telegram login, if signing in with one of those);
year of birth, only to turn on child mode; it is never shown anywhere;
nickname and an avatar from a ready-made set (photos cannot be uploaded);
progress, achievements and favourite games.

We do not ask for a phone number, exact date of birth, photos or location, and the service has no adverts or payments. Find out more in the Privacy Policy.

The laws of many countries require consent from a parent or legal guardian before a child under a certain age can create an account. The service complies with this requirement: the procedure for obtaining and verifying parental consent will be approved after a legal review and introduced before accounts for children are publicly launched.

How to delete a child's account

Sign in to the child's account.
Open the profile → "Settings".
If needed, first press "Download my data" to save a copy.
Press "Delete account" and confirm.

After 30 days the account will be anonymised: the email, year of birth, sign-in methods, progress and favourites are deleted. If you sign in to the account again within those 30 days, the deletion is cancelled.

If you cannot sign in, or the account was created without your permission, write to zhimchik@gmail.com and we will help you delete it. To protect the child, we may ask you to confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian.

If something goes wrong

If your child comes across unpleasant content or behaviour, press "Report" next to the review or on the player's profile, or write to zhimchik@gmail.com. The rules for how people should behave are set out in the Community Rules.
